Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails

"Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails" is a variant of the base game " Ticket to Ride ". "Ticket to Ride" is a popular family board game. The gameplay of "Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails" is very similar to the well-known base game, but now the scale of the game has been expanded - players can also move across water areas.

Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails introduces some innovations to the TtR formula.

There are two decks of cards in the game - one for trains and one for ships. When the game starts, 3 cards from each suit are revealed and when a player takes a card it is replaced by a card from any suit.

To build a train track, you need to use the wagons and play the wagon cards of the corresponding color. To build a sea route you need to use ships and ship cards. Ship cards can have one or two ships represented in this way. If a card with two ships is played, it covers one or even two squares. A player can use his action to swap ships and wagons, but loses one point for each swapped piece!

Some tickets will indicate so-called tourist routes with several cities included. If the player manages to build all the routes including these cities and he/she owns such a card, he/she will get more points at the end of the game than if he/she completes the same route without that particular card.

Each player will start the game with 3 ports. If a route is built to one of the port cities, the player can use his turn to build a port there. (one port to city) To build a port, a player must play two train cards and two ship cards of the same color with the port symbol on the cards. At the end of the game, 4 points are lost for each unplayed port, and 10 - 40 points are gained for each port, depending on how much that port is represented on the player's tickets that have been played.

Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails includes an area that can be used from both sides. One side has a world map and the other the Great Lakes of North America. Depending on which side is played, players start the game with a different number of dice and cards, and each square offers variations in the rules of the game.
