Europa Universalis is a strategic level tabletop war game that gives players a complete 4X gameplay experience in a historical setting. Through strategic use of cards and careful management of resources, you can expand your kingdom on the map area while developing the internal machinery of the country on your player board. You must build diplomatic relations that further your ambitions, and you can explore the farthest corners of the world. By hiring skilled advisors and carefully focusing your monarch's power on big ideas, provincial development, and long-term strategies, you may be able to outperform your historical counterparts.

This is a game for 1-4 players (depending on the different scenarios included and up to 6 players with the expansion). The goal of the game is to build the most successful empire, and points are awarded for (among other things) provinces owned, territories explored, diplomatic relations, wars won, and secret objectives achieved.
