It's been months since you dreamed of the sunset city - towering minarets and domes criss-crossed by shadow and red light from the gently smoldering fireball that's constantly outside the city. Since then, you've been crossing those borders every night, searching the city, hoping to get inside. You have seen wonders beyond comparison: the cats of Saint Ulthar and the turquoise and tourmaline city of Celephaïs, nestled beneath the gingko-covered slopes of Mount Aran. You have abandoned your waking life, eating less and less, spending more and more time sleeping. But tonight is different. There, on the silvery, blade-thin horizon between wakefulness and sleep, the black ships from the moon have finally caught you.
