Assyria

In Assyria, players represent the tribes that live in Mesopotamia, trying to thrive in the desert and the limited fertile area that lies between two rivers that divide the playing field. In pursuit of power (points), players build Ziggurats (permanent outposts), wells, make sacrifices to the gods and try to meet the nobles of Asura (the capital of Assyria).

Stage 1:
Players choose cards with resources that allow them to develop and expand. The order of the players' moves is decided - the one who gets the most food plays last. The player with the least food starts first.

Stage 2:
Players deploy on the playing field to earn points or money.
Players start building huts by paying for their placement with their food cards. Depending on where the huts are placed, they either score points or earn camels (money).

Stage 3:
Players spend money / camels on various investments.
The player either gets a one-time bonus from the nobles of Asira, or makes a long-term investment by sacrificing to the gods and building Ziggurats

The game lasts for three eras, consisting of 2-3 such cycles. After each epoch comes the flood: the board is partially cleared, but the players also benefit from their investments from the 3rd stage. In each round, players also score points for huts (those built on fertile land between two rivers score more points) and Ziggurats.
