Scrapbook Birds

When creating the poster "Birds of Latvia", we have chosen 50 common, typical and special bird species in Latvia, which we invite you to observe in nature, recognize and discover on the poster. You will be able to find some bird species on the first day, but others - only when you become a real bird watcher.

It will also be interesting to study what these birds look like. In the drawings of the well-known children's book illustrator Agia Stakas, birds will be easily recognizable by their most characteristic features. Some of the species, such as the buzzard, the barn owl or the cuckoo, are more often heard than seen. However, in bird watching, listening is also recognized as observing the particular bird.

Winter is a good time to start bird watching, as some of the birds have gone to wintering grounds in warm countries, but those that have stayed with us are easier to spot and recognize. While the winter species will be discovered, spring will come - the time of bird migration, singing and nesting, when it will be possible to discover the other species one after another.

Go to nature with children, together with the whole family, and then collect what you observed in nature in an attractive way on a poster!
