Tranquility - The Ascent
Try to climb the mountain in this challenging cooperative experience.
Starting at the bottom of the mountain, players are tasked with filling a pyramid-shaped grid from the base to the top. The base of the mountain has nine cards, the row above it has eight, and so on, and the top row has one top card, which is played once the rest of the construction is complete. During your turn, you must play a card on the mountain or discard two cards. The cards are numbered 1 to 12 and have one of three different terrain types on them. Cards of the same type of terrain may not be played next to each other, and if they are played next to each other, the difference between the cards must also be discarded, for example, placing a 7 next to a 4 requires discarding three cards.
A new row can be started when at least two cards have been laid out in the next row. Cards must always be "supported" by the two cards immediately below them, but they are not connected in any way to the rows above or below them, i.e. the first row can start with a 10 and the next row with a 1.
If players complete the mountain and end it with a top card, they win; if a player cannot take an action on their turn, everyone loses.
