This is a great wooden shogi set from Philos .
Shogi is the Japanese version of chess, considered by some to be the most difficult of all traditional chess variations. The main difference is that when the pieces are captured, they can be placed back on the board, playing for the opposing side. This gives Japanese chess an advantage over other forms of chess, as a draw is an unfathomably rare event.
