Hive: The Mosquito is an expansion of the strategy board game Hive. Mosquito figures can be added to the standard Hive set before the game starts, giving each player 12 figures to play with.
At the beginning of the game, the mosquito is placed on the field, just like the other insects. During the game, the mosquito takes on the movement characteristics of any insect it is touching at the time, so the way the mosquito moves changes throughout the game.
Exception: If a mosquito is moved onto a hive as a beetle, it continues to move as a beetle until it leaves the hive.
