Kas veikalam plauktiņā? Spēles ģimenēm!

What's on the store shelf? Games for families!

Don't know what to play with the family? Here are our five suggestions for an evening full of adventure and fun. These tips will also come in handy for game night with friends! :)

1. Pyramid of the Pengqueen (8+, 2-5 players, 30-45min)

Go on an epic expedition to the Pyramid of the Penguin Queen, which, according to legend, hides fabulous treasures! But be careful - the mistress of the pyramid has been awakened - a mummy who does not want to share her artifacts at all. Every adventurer has five treasures in mind that they want to bring out of the tombs to gain great riches and fame. Once someone has found all five, the treasure hunt is over, and that penguin takes the victory lap. Pyramid will be an exciting game for the whole family, where one of the players will assume the role of a mummy and try to catch the other players. Their task will be to move around the playing field - a labyrinth with the help of dice - to find the desired treasures. Moving seems easy - we can roll the dice as many times as we want to get the number we want, but it is not at all. If you happen to roll a mummy symbol, that die will have to be returned to her, thus reducing the number of available dice and complicating the entire treasure hunt. The playing field is vertical - the mummy sits on one side, and everyone else on the other. While the penguins always see where the mummy is and how it moves, it never sees the penguins' location. BUT. When someone wants to steal one of the treasures, they will have to show the mummy which of the treasures is being taken. Then the mummy learns the penguin's exact location and the chase takes a new turn. Let the most spectacular Indiana Jones-type adventure begin!

2. Saboteur Forest (10+, 3-9 players, 30-60min)

Deep in the forest lies an old, long-forgotten mine, and you're ripe to find it! You must gather your team of dwarves and go deep into the forest. Only together can you overcome obstacles, avoid traps and trolls and, of course, find valuable treasures! But watch out for the dragon and always look out for your expedition mates - they might have something up their sleeves. You work together playing card after card to build a path that leads through the forest. Along the way, trolls will block your efforts and traps will cause you to lose cards from your hand. You will need to use the right tools to overcome the obstacles. The task of the game is to move your dwarves along the paths until you reach one of the four mines in order to retrieve the much-coveted treasures from them. At the end of the round, you can divide all the finds - each team member can get his share, but one of the dwarves is selfishly working only for his own interests, while another is actually working for the opposing team! The player who manages to collect the most treasure in two rounds will win the game. A must-have for every fan of the classic Saboteur game, this game combines the best elements of both Saboteur, Saboteur 2 and Saboteur Duel, while being a very different (and now more substantial) board game. A great opportunity to spend funny and treacherous evenings with the family.

3. Back and forth (7+, 2-6 players, 30 min)

The newest game of Brain Games, which was created together with two schoolgirls, as part of the competition of the Latvian Academy of Culture. Together with your family, you have the opportunity to travel Latvia without leaving home. Each of you will have to visit four different objects, each in its own district. But that alone will not be enough to win. The game is won by the player who completes the first, will play the drawn at the beginning, end task. However, visiting each object affects the further operation of the game, which can be both good and bad for you. The game also has various event cards that can help you stop your opponents or take the lead yourself.

4. Stone Age (10+, 2-4 players, 60-90min)

Stone Age will be useful for more orderly strategic evenings in the family circle. A game sure to appeal to Catan fans. Return to the Stone Age and strive to create the most powerful tribe. To do this, you will have to think carefully about which resources to send your tribe's workers for. Maybe send them hunting? Food is very important in this era and every employee will want their stomach court. Or maybe get someone to go make work tools, which will then help you get more and more resources. If we improve our skills in agriculture, the burden of providing food will be greatly eased. But there are so many possibilities, but at the beginning there are only five workers in the tribe, so maybe two of them have to be sent to the children's hut in the beginning, in order to find another worker. But that's another mouth to feed. It is also possible to build new huts with the obtained resources, which will bring such valuable victory points. Resources can also be used to obtain relics and hire new tribe members, which will lead to a large number of victory points at the end of the game. There are many possibilities, but only the tribe with the best strategy during the game will be declared the winner. A game that will make your head spin from the many possibilities and will provide unforgettable moments watching how tiny tribes grow to be mighty.

5. Ticket to Ride: Europe (8+, 2-5 players, 30-60min)

Build your own railway networks across Europe, connecting the continent's largest cities. Try to collect wagon cards of the right color to build a railway line on the big map. And hurry, so that someone else does not manage to do it before you! A fantastic game that has received huge acclaim around the world and has already brought joy-filled gaming nights to millions of homes. Let you be next! Each player will receive ticket cards at the beginning of the game, which depict two cities that must be connected during the game. If we succeed, we will earn the specified number of points, but if not, these points will be deducted at the end of the game. That's why you have to be careful - maybe it's better to drop one of the tickets already at the beginning of the game. Between every two cities on the playing field there are roads of different colors, by collecting them we will be able to put our wagons on them, thus gaining points. During the walk, you can choose between four actions, but use only one - take new train cards, build a railway line, create a station or take new tickets (in case you want to be very adventurous and try to earn points). On top of all that, there are locomotive cards that serve as any suit. Very fast moves and an unbreakable strategy - is it better to put your trains on the playing field as soon as you have collected the necessary cards or to collect several and then put them on the map one after the other. All this in one box - Ticket to Ride!
