The players of the game Imperial Settlers: Empires of the North (hereinafter referred to as: Empires of the North) will have to take care of the maintenance of the Empire and its development. Choosing one of the 6 tribes available in the game pack, each endowed with their own set of unique abilities and skill cards, players compete to build their Empire by making economic, diplomatic and also military decisions that result in the opportunity to gain resources, victory points or just plain ruin lives to one of the opponents. 

Empires of the North is a card game, which means that at its heart, your task will be to use the cards available to you as successfully as possible, adding new buildings, skills or resources to your empire. The catch in all of this will be to create combinations of cards that will allow you to make the most effective moves and get ahead of the rest in scoring. During your journey, you will also be able to send employees on various tasks, as well as sail to nearby or distant islands, hoping to get various treasures and resources, the value of which will depend on who gets there first. As soon as all the players have taken all the actions available to them and it is not possible to make more moves, the game moves to the next round, at the beginning of which each player gets new cards, additional resources, and also recovers all the workers sent out for work. In general, the variety of mechanics and cards is the basis why the game will not get bored even after many and many games, in addition, there are already several expansions with new tribes that allow you to refresh the gameplay even more. 

The rules of the game are relatively easy to learn, because basically you only need to learn the structure of making a move, as well as the ways of obtaining points - the course of the game, in turn, depends on and is described in the cards played. This means that knowledge of the English language will be required to fully play it. 

It must be said that visually this is a very attractive game. The fun characters, bright colors and quality game components really bring the table to life every time the game is put out for play. It should be noted here that, given that it is a card game, it does not take up too much space, and there are relatively few components other than cards that will be placed on the playing field - just a scoring area and a random extra move circle.

Ruling an Empire is not the easiest task in the world, especially when you have to constantly struggle with the lack of resources, time and opportunities. However, there is rarely a better way to reap the fruits of your labor than by winning a game of Empires of the North and declaring your northern empire the most prosperous and well-cared for of all parties involved. While players have the opportunity to damage the lives of opponents during the game, for the most part such actions are very rare and there are no hidden grudges against any of the players for aggressive moves after the game.

In conclusion, it should be added that among the games released in 2019, it has entered the TOP selections of many game reviewers and not without reason, because it really provides great entertainment.
