Brain Games Reinis recommends

As many of you already know, we are big game enthusiasts and each of our employees has their own taste when it comes to games. Some like long and complex strategy games, others like co-op, and still others like skill games. In any case, we share a great interest in everything related to board games and their culture, so some of our colleagues have agreed to tell us about the games that they find interesting and relevant at the moment.

Reinis is Brain Games' logistics guru, but spends a large part of his working day testing and developing various game projects. It should be mentioned that he is also one of the authors of Ice Cool. Have an LCG tournament every now and then. Here are Rein's game recommendations!

Mysterium

Mysterium is a cooperative board game for family, parties and gatherings of up to 7 people. In this mystery game, players become psychics and try to remember the secret of an ancient house. Players work together as a team to win the game. If it fails, everyone loses together.

Reinis: In principle, two games in one, because your experience is significantly different when you are a ghost or a psychic. In both cases, it's interesting and you have to think carefully about what your friend has thought or will understand when playing a certain card or cards. Sufficient variety of the game is provided by the possible combinations of cards, which, even when playing in the same group, will not make the scenarios repeat themselves.

Mysterium expansion - Hidden Signs.

Arkham Horror

Arkham Horror: The Card Game is an exciting LCG-type scenario-based co-op game. The world is threatened by an unknown ancient evil. Can you stop it?

Reinis: The Living Card Game (LCG) is a format I've long loved. It provides for the release of new game elements (expansions) every other month. The game is constantly evolving and forces players to constantly search for the most efficient methods of completing tasks. The game is very themed and what she manages to achieve with just cards is fantastic. The game is divided into scenarios that predict the progression of the overall story over the course of several evenings - each time, players as characters in the game do different things and choices that lead the story to a different outcome. Here it is not unambiguously winning or losing, but outcome A or outcome B, C, D, etc. etc.

Pandemic Legacy Season 1 & Season 2

Pandemic Legacy ( Season 1 & Season 2 ) is a popular cooperative strategy board game. Based on Pandemic, a new adventure that takes board games to a new level. This is a board game that is personalized, starting each round with the situation created in the previous round. Players name their characters, apply stickers, personalize the map and do other things that make them feel like they're in a real story - there's no other game like yours anywhere in the world.

Reinis: A peculiar approach to what the game is and how it can be played. After each play, the playing field is changed with stickers, new inscriptions are made, new details are found, old cards are torn up, rules are changed, etc. This is not a game that you can play forever, as there are only 12-24 games until you complete the game's campaign, and then you can only keep the box on the shelf for memories - but very good memories with expressive events. This game should always be played in the same company, because the game has a story that develops and most likely no one will start this game again twice, because knowing what will happen next, it will not be so interesting.

Ļoti feina spēļu izvēle. Izņemot Mysterium, visu iesaku arī no savas puses.
