Stāsts par ģimeniskām Lieldienām, spēlējot galda spēles!

The story of a family Easter while playing board games!

The weather is very unpredictable at the moment. One day it's very warm, the next day it's raining, and the third day it's snowing and very cold. But that doesn't bother us because, you know what else is just as unpredictable? BOARD GAMES! The children, Liva and Gustavs, run to the game shelf every weekend and each choose one game they would like to play. After all, everyone has their own taste, so dad will also choose one game. Mom usually gives in to play what the others want. This time Liva (8 years old) chooses the game Sketch Fever , and Gustavs (5 years old) chooses the game Pyramid of Pengqueen . Dad chooses the game ICECOOL and ICECOOL2 . But hey, didn't everyone have to choose just one? Yes, but putting both ICECOOLs together makes one big game, but more on that later, because at first we will play the games chosen by the children.

Sketch Fever is a fast-paced drawing and guessing game. Mom and Liv play separately, but Gustav and dad are on the same team, because Gustav can't read yet, but the players are secretly assigned words to draw. The game is very intense and Liv's drawings are very good, but mom is the best this time. Dad and Gustav remain third, but dad comforts Gustav that it's just a game and you don't have to go through it.

The next one is Pyramid of Pengqueen . This game is played on a unique vertical board where the pieces are moved by magnets. One player is a mummy who doesn't know where the treasure hunters are, who see where the mummy is and try not to get into its clutches. The mummy wins if it catches the treasure hunters and takes a certain number of torches from them. But the treasure hunters win if they manage to collect five treasures before the mummy catches them. Here the eternal battle of who will play the mummy begins again. This time Gustav will be a mummy because he chose this game. The dice fall in Gustav's favor and no matter how hard we try not to reveal where we are, the mummy still catches us and wins the game. Gustav's body is immediately better, and we are ready to start the game (games?) of dad's choice.

So, here is the solution to the big two ICECOOL puzzle. Each of the games can be played separately, but if you combine them, you have the opportunity to create new fields and play all your favorite racing variants. ICECOOL is a game about penguins running around school and collecting fish. Penguins are moved with the help of pincers. In the racing version, players are divided into teams and the team that collects their fish first and reaches the finish box with both penguins wins the game. This time we are playing girls against boys. Since the children are not yet able to make the pins so well, we allow them to hit the penguin figures forward with the palm of their hand. It's a tight fight, but it looks like dad has practiced a special kick that allows the penguins to jump over walls, and in no time the boy team collects their fish and finishes. Dad high-fives everyone, yes, even the opposing team, and we all put the game back in the box together. Everyone is very happy for the time spent together and for the emotions, especially mom and dad, who are very happy for the children, who passionately remember the highlights of the game they just played. And the children are already starting to plan what we will play next.

We can't do without playing on Easter either. We celebrate them together with our grandparents, so we put games in our bag that are easy to understand and quick to play. This year we chose the association game Dixit , the family fighting game King of Tokyo and the game Outfoxed , in which we can assume the role of detectives.
