Saboteur Latvian Championship 2024

FOLLOW THE RESULTS

On September 23 of this year, the sixth "Saboteur" Latvian Championship will take place, the winner of which will get the right to represent Latvia at the World Championship. Prove your tricks and bluffing skills as the best dwarf in the game!

PRIZE FUND

• 1st place: Brain Games gift card worth €50 and the right to represent Latvia in the World Saboteur Championship.

• 2nd place: Brain Games gift card worth €35 .

• 3rd place: Brain Games gift card worth €25 .

Application form

Participation fee in the tournament: 5 €.

Payment for participation must be made in advance in the online store .

Minimum number of participants: 12. The number of participants will be fixed on Sunday, September 22 at 12.00

PROCEEDINGS OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Monday, September 23 from 18.00 to 21.00.

AGENDA

• 17.45-18.15 arrival and registration.
• 18.15 first round division and opening of the tournament.
• 18.20 first round.
• 19.05 second round.
• 19.50 third round.
• 20.35 final.
• 21.20 awarding.

The use of alcohol and other intoxicating substances, as well as aggressive behavior during the championship is not allowed and threatens with disqualification! It is forbidden to disturb or help other participants! We are for clean sport!

CHAMPIONSHIP RULES

ORDER OF PLAY

The main tournament lasts 3 rounds, after which the best 6 play the final, the winner of which is the Latvian champion.

ROUND

One round consists of three plays (or a full game of Saboteur). In each round, the roles are reassigned and points are awarded at the end of the round. The game follows the basic Saboteur game rules with minor changes to roles and scoring as described below.

ROLES

Unlike Saboteur's regular game, the tournament has three changes:

• You will always know exactly what roles are in the game.
• In addition to dwarves and saboteurs, an egoistic dwarf comes along, whose task is to win alone (he does not win together with ordinary dwarves).

POINTS

At the end of each hand, points are awarded depending on the outcome of the hand.

• If the saboteurs win, the saboteur gets 4 points if he is the only one, or 3 points if there are two or three saboteurs.
• If the path to the gold is made by the selfish dwarf, then he alone gets 4 points.
• If the path to the gold is made by a gnome, then that gnome gets 3 points, and every other normal gnome gets 2 points.

DIVISION BY TABLES

In the first three rounds, the division at the tables is drawn.

Each table is played by 6 players (2 saboteurs, 3 normal gnomes, 1 selfish dwarf), however, if the number of participants is not divisible by 6, tables with 5 participants (1 saboteur, 3 normal gnomes, 1 selfish gnome) or 7 participants are also created (2 saboteurs, 3 normal dwarves, 2 egoistic dwarves).

The 6 best participants according to the rating obtained after the main tournament play in the finals. If several players have the same number of points after 3 rounds, then more than 6 players can play at the final table. The winner of the final becomes the champion of Latvia and is entitled to represent Latvia at the world championship in the fall.

RATING

To rank the players, firstly, the number of points of the players is taken into account, secondly, the number of open gold fields.
