Board games for the Easter holidays

In a time when everything around us is digital and artificial, we offer something real— togetherness, emotions, and unforgettable memories with board games. Whether you want to play with a larger group during Easter or as a duo on a weekday evening, Brain Games has games for your needs!

If you plan to celebrate Easter with family or friends, there are several excellent games to include in your holiday repertoire. Moreover, these games are useful in almost any situation where you want something with very simple rules but creative gameplay.

"Just One" is an absolute classic that can be played by all generations together. A perfect game for those who don't like learning complicated rules. One of us will be the leader who has to guess the word that all other players see. They have to come up with a one-word clue, which they write on a whiteboard, but the catch is that words cannot be repeated — then they will be erased. The more players, the more creative the clue writing!

The game "Catch Sketch", which is also one of my favorite party games, has a similar principle. In this game, there will also be one leader who has to guess the word, but this time the catch is that the clues will be illustrations that the other players will try to draw as quickly as possible. The faster you finish, the sooner you can show your drawing to the leader and potentially earn more points, but the risk is that your "artwork" won't be clear enough. If you haven't been to art school, even better, because this is a game where fast drawing is more important than precise lines. Fun guaranteed!

"Shit Happens" will also be great if a larger number of people are sitting at the table. A game where we try to rank unpleasant and funny life situations on a scale from least unpleasant to absolute disaster.

Meanwhile, in the game "Diamant", we all go into caves to bring out as many treasures as possible, but we have to be responsible for our own decisions. The further you go, the more treasures you can collect, but if you go too far, you will fall into a trap and be left empty-handed. Are you ready to explore the next room?

Small games don't mean less fun. "Similo" is an association game that can be played by two or more players. One of you will be the leader who knows the "correct" card. Using other cards in hand, the leader will give a clue to help the team discard cards so that the last one left is the "correct" card. Versions of the game with fairy tale characters and animals are available in Latvian, but other versions are also available in English, all of which can be combined as you wish.

New to our assortment is "Dobble CATAN", a version of the well-known game "Dobble" with the theme of the famous game "CATAN" and new ways to play the game!

We haven't forgotten about the youngest players either. "EXIT Kids: Jungle of Riddles" is a new game in the "EXIT" series, designed specifically for the youngest puzzle solvers. Moreover, in this "EXIT" version, the components do not need to be destroyed, so this escape game can be solved more than once!

The well-known game "Carcassonne" also has its children's version "Carcassonne Junior", which retains the principles of the classic game combined with strategic choices. All this is adapted for players from four years old, because in this version, unlike the standard version, it is not possible to make illegal moves, no matter where you place a tile, it will be correct!

If you like the idea of placing tiles on the game board, but don't want to compete with other players, then "Flow" is the solution to your problems! Help the animals overcome the flood and get to safety on the raft, but be careful, because time is working against you!

Often, we want a game to have some added value in addition to the fact that board games already develop our logical thinking. In this category, few games surpass our own "Šurpu Turpu", in which we travel around Latvia. The game uses real sights throughout Latvia, and they are accompanied by small descriptions of the specific sight. Play the game and go see some of these objects in person!

For strategy game enthusiasts, one of the best Easter options is the game "Wingspan", because in this bird game we have colorful eggs that perfectly match the spirit of Easter! If you already have "Wingspan", then it is worth considering the expansion "European Birds", which adds new and more familiar birds to the game. These cards open up countless new strategic possibilities.

If your company likes more interaction between players, check out "Survive the Island" and "King of Tokyo: Origins". In both these games, you will have the opportunity to prank opponents, but you also have to think about your own benefit, how to get more points.

Any of these and many other games will be great not only for Easter, but in any life situation! And let's remember that game conversations at the table will be real and genuine, which can be very refreshing in this age of artificial intelligence.
